Once again, Yeshivas Lubavitch of Toronto held their annual Kinus Torah, in accordance with the oft-repeated directives of the Rebbe. Isru Chag in the afternoon, all of the talmidei haYeshiva, both of the zal and the mesivta, gathered together for close to 2 hours of divrei Torah in both nigleh and chassidus.

Hatomim Aharon Bergman of Pittsburgh, a student in the zal, opened the Kinus with a dvar malchus, taken from a sicha of Shavuous 5752. He was followed by the Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Wagner, who shared a pilpul about the connection between sefirah and Shavuous. HaTomim Yossi Lipsker of Sherman Oaks CA, a talmid in the mesivta, spoke next, with a skillfully delivered analysis of the difference between Chassidus and chakirah. Afterwards HaTomim Mendel Hertz of Chicago, a bochur in the zal, gave a pilpul about the nature of a kohein accepting matanos on behalf of his wife. He was followed by HaTomim Ephraim Lerner, who came to the zal in Yeshivas Lubavitch of Toronto all the way from Australia, who discussed the maamar “Ashrei Tivchar”. The final speaker was Mendel Gurary of Montreal, a talmid in the mesivta, who spoke about the status of the marriage of a couple when they arise for techiyas hameisim.
